The man took his elderly father to a restaurant. The father was very old and weak.
As he ate, bits of food fell on his shirt and pants. People turned and looked at him with disgust, but his son remained calm.
When dinner was over, the son gently helped his father to his feet and led him to the toilet.
There he cleaned his father’s pants and shirt, helped him wash, lovingly combed his gray hair, helped put on his glasses.
When they entered the restaurant hall, there was a gloomy silence.
There were indignant whispers about how a father could act like this in a public place, throwing food back and forth and depriving others of their appetites.
The son called the waiter, paid the bill, and when they were already leaving, one of them shouted to the people:
„Looks like you missed something.“ The son looked around and said that they had not forgotten anything.
Then the man exclaimed. „You left something for everyone in this room…э
…you left a lesson for every son and daughter, a hope for every parent.” All the people in the room suddenly went silent. Each of them was ashamed․
One of the greatest honors that fate can give us is the care of elderly parents, people who gave us all their time, health and money.
