Injured veteran brings his service dog to his wedding

After returning from Afghanistan, where Justin lost his leg, he could count on his service dog Gabe at all the key moments of his life, both in the most difficult and in the happiest. And when it came to his marriage, there were witnesses.

Justin Lansford served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the US Army. In 2012, he fought in Afghanistan, where his life completely changed.

While on patrol, a homemade bomb exploded near the car he was in. The young man left his leg there, according to Animal Channel.

Upon his return to the US, he received a prosthesis. She was also provided with a service dog through Warrior Canine Connections.

Since then, he and Gabe, a 2-year-old golden retriever, have been inseparable. The quadruped helps him every day, in particular, to get up after falls. He also and above all became his best friend and a full member of his family.

When a former soldier asked his girlfriend Carol to marry him, the four-legged man supported him. And when the big day came, the wedding day, Gabe was obviously there too.

In fact, the golden retriever didn’t just attend the ceremony. Justin Lansford chose him as a witness. Gabe took his role as best man very seriously.

He led the bride and groom down the aisle and carried their wedding rings. He then watched them very closely as they said yes to life and kissed.

Gabe was, in a way, the couple’s first child. He leads a happy life in his new home with Justin and Carol. He also befriends PJ, the neighbor’s dog.
