Her meals come directly from the cattle ranch that her family owns. She stated to PEOPLE that „life in quarantine hasn’t been all that different from normal life.“

Two years ago, Kiah’s situation was very different. In 2018, she was the Director of Consumer Affairs at the Kentucky Beef Council.

Despite having a wonderful partner who is now her fiancé and a great job, this female rancher struggled with one aspect of her life:her body massAt the time, she weighed 285 pounds, which was her heaviest weight.

She went on to say, „I’ve fought with weight my whole life.“I tried a few different diets, but it was just a terrible cycle of losing weight, stopping the diet, and then gaining it all back and more.

Kiah had given up because she was convinced that she would never be able to change. She continued, „For a long time, I thought it was simply my genetics, that I was just given a poor hand and there was nothing I could do about it.“

On the other hand, she started working on herself because of a job role. The rancher was responsible for overseeing the nutrition program in his capacity as the Kentucky Beef Council’s Director of Consumer Affairs.

The task required standing in front of a group of educators, influencers, and qualified dieticians.Being required to inform them about beef’s nutritional advantages terrified Kiah.

She was well aware of the current deterioration in her health. She went on to say, „I was thinking, ‚I want to walk the walk.'““Kiah was inspired to make significant changes after reading one book.

She read „Girl, Wash Your Face,“ a book by motivational speaker Rachel Hollis, while traveling to a work meeting.

She went on to say that „that book was a wake-up call for me“ and that „if you want to improve your life, live a better life, or create a life you’ve always dreamed of, it’s all in your control and no one else’s,“ she was in control of everything.

Her choice was Hollis‘ Five to Thrive Plan, which encourages the development of five straightforward behaviors.

Kiah started journaling, exercising for 30 minutes every day, waking up an hour earlier, drinking half her body weight in ounces, and eating intuitively.

Because of her dedication, Kiah lost 25 pounds between October 2018 and January 2019.She was inspired to keep going by that achievement.

She set a new objective for herself:By October 2019, she wanted to lose 100 pounds. She maintained her weight loss, but there were some bumps in the road.

She explained, „It was about keeping those small steps ahead and not getting too comfortable in my routine.“

Kiah started doing more challenging workout videos on YouTube and experimenting with various nutritious diets to increase her energy.

She was able to achieve amazing results through these practices, but the most significant change was in her mindset. I used to tell myself, „See, you failed, you always fail,“ whenever I failed at dieting.

But this time, „I started with self-love,“ Kiah continued.“I had to forgive myself and ask, ‚What can I learn from this?'“

„I had to love myself just to show up every day and do the tough things. What can I do with this experience to advance?

Kiah reached her goal of losing 103 pounds in a year by losing 103 pounds in a year and an additional 19 pounds in the past seven months.

She and her fiancé have returned to the cattle ranch in San Luis Obispo, California, that belonged to her family.Kiah has also switched careers, and she now runs her own health and wellness coaching business.

She now asserts that the significance of the scale’s numbers has diminished. She provided the following explanation: „It’s more about showing up and loving myself today than it is about hitting a number or a target weight.“
