In addition to being one of the closest animals to people, gorillas are amazing pets. Our species has a lot in common, and people and gorillas can frequently form an unreal but beautiful bond.

That was the situation just lately, when an Australian zookeeper intervened to give a little gorilla an opportunity at life after his mom rejected him.
Kaius, a little gorilla, was born last month at Mogo Wildlife Park in New South Wales, but the wonderful kid almost died.
It was the gorilla family’s 1st birth, and new mother Kipenzi reportedly „did an amazing job“ giving birth. Everything appeared to be going well.
However, during a crucial feeding period, the kids‘ dad, Kisane, separated Kaius from his mother for unknown reasons.
Despite the fact that the dad was „very gentle and caring“ with the newborn, separating the child from his mom put the father’s life in danger.

After 14 hours, the baby was taken back to Kipenzi by zoo staff, but Kaius had sepsis pneumonia and was rejected by his mom.
Despite the fact that the young gorilla’s life was in jeopardy, zookeeper Chad Staples, the staff, and vets refused to give up.
Chad stated to The Sunday Telegraph, „On the 1st night I had him, when all the health care people had treated him and left, we all knew there was a high chance he would crash during night.“
Kaius has been cared for round-the-clock by Chad, who has been updating his FB page with story updates and treating him like his own child.

Chad wrote, „Right now a lot of his care mimics the exact care you would give a person kid with all of his nutritional needs, hygiene, and medical care, but also in some ways, most importantly, his emotional care and development.
„Kaius needs to know that he is adored and safe, just like a kid, and please know that I am giving him this 24/7.“All thanks to the zoo keeper’s special care, Kaius has made a steady healing over the past few weeks.
„Everybody puts it down to skin on skin contact and giving him the profound association and security,“ he told the Message.
„He was able to slow down his heart rate and stabilize his breathing by making contact with my chest and listening to my heartbeat.

Chad has stated in recent updates that Kaius is doing „so so good,“ adding weight, and becoming „stronger and stronger.“
“Even though human hand-rearing has been the ideal method for Kaius‘ healing, the ultimate objective is for him to one day be reunited with his family and fellow gorillas.
Chad wrote, „I want to see him as a beautiful, strong Silver back in the future with his own family group to look after.
He is a tiny baby now.“Yet, meanwhile, Kaius is making a consistent recuperation in the arms of his extremely unique carer.Chad stated, „Our pretty little boy is making his own little steps forward.
„He is still taking all of his medications, but his eyes are so bright that they give us all hope.“We are so happy that this beautiful baby gorilla is recovering as a result of the special care provided by this caring zookeeper.
We hope Kaius matures into a robust young man who can rejoin his fellow gorillas!
