During their vacation, the young kids save a newborn beluga whale washed up on the riverbank

Two boys saw a newborn beluga whale washed ashore while on a family vacation in Canada on the St. Lawrence River.

Nicholas Milliard, 15, described how he and his younger brothers were able to save the animal. Every five minutes, water was poured in to prevent the animal from drying out.

„We made an opening so that water could gather there and hydrate its skin,“ says Milliard. The Quebec family right away contacted rescuers and continued to care for the cub until specialists arrived.

The animal was rescued and returned to the water. It is hoped that the cub will either be fed by one other beluga whale or reunited with its mom.

For 2 years, beluga whales take care of and eat their young; The cub simply cannot survive without the assistance of its mother.

The reservoir’s pollution is to blame for the decline in the St. Lawrence River’s population of beluga whales, which is now down to 900 from thousands.

Nevertheless, the rescued beluga whale now has a chance of survival. And this is all because of the hard work of caring boys.
