Until Emily Blythe adopted Runt, a tabby kitten, he had been a stray cat all his life. Runt was discovered in terrible condition.
He also had a respiratory infection, multiple wounds on his face and ears, and was malnourished.
When he arrived at the Tavares, Florida, no-kill Lake County Animal Shelter, his body was in pretty bad shape. Additionally, Runt is an older cat, with an estimated age of 14 years.
Runt was treated for several weeks after arriving at the shelter until he was sufficiently well to be transferred to a foster home.
Around then, Blythe chose to briefly cultivate Pipsqueak alongside her different pets. Blythe said in a recent interview that Runt seemed to like the new location and fit in well with the other senior cats.
Runt slept like he had always been there the first night because it was so cozy. She couldn’t part with him because it was obvious to Blythe that he belonged in the house.
Runt eventually owned a house for the first time in his life. Runt is a calm cat who gets along well with all of the house pets, including the puppies and kittens.
Once, Blythe brought back an encourage little cat, and Pipsqueak willingly volunteered to support the cat. Blythe initially believed that the foster kitten would not survive, but Runt was the reason it did.
Dolly and Reece, two abandoned kittens, were brought home by Blythe in April that year. Runt stepped in as a parent for Dolly, who was reticent and restless.
Dolly immediately seeks Runt’s affection. Today, Runt becomes a father to their orphaned kittens whenever one is brought to their home.
He treats and cares for them as if it were his life’s work to help the other rescued animals. Runt lives with Sassy, Pixie, and Petunia at Blythe’s house.
Petunia, a lovable and adorable cat, was injured on her face when she arrived at the shelter. Petunia was shot in the face when she was a kitten in the past.
She is healthy, adored, and content now. Today, Blythe posts pictures of her pets on a regular basis in an effort to demonstrate to the public how wonderful shelter animals are.
