After being fed some food, the cat became attached to them and was given the name Dave. John Stones, a teammate, stated, „He’s there sat waiting for his food every night.“
Dave immediately turned into a fan number one and an informal mascot for the group on their mission for World Cup greatness.
In a press conference, teammate Kyle Walker was asked about Dave, and he confirmed that the team was considering bringing the cat home with them.

The welfare organization wrote that Dave will be quarantined for four months „as he prepares for his new life“ before traveling to his new home in the UK.
He is now in a foster home and has had his vaccinations. Since the cat was reportedly „adopted“ by Stones and Walker in Qatar, it seems likely that they will take care of Dave when he arrives in the UK.
Walker stated, „He was just there one day, so we’ve just adopted him, me and Stonesy.“ Dave can join us at the table.
