This lovable Alpaca won’t leave his sick friend’s side

We assume that humans are the animals‘ primary caregivers. However, this story about a sick Alpaca named Bobbert demonstrated that their animal friends can provide some of the best care.

Bobbert was not doing well when volunteers at West Place Animal Sanctuary noticed it one day. The weak llama was confined to a stall, but Cash, his closest friend and fellow Alpaca, was always present.

The dangerous parasite that had cost Bobbert his back legs was confirmed by the veterinarians to be a meningeal worm. The ill Alpaca needed to undergo a rigorous five-day treatment.

Cash was fortunately by his side every step of the way. Bobbert took his first tentative steps out of his stall on the fifth day. A caretaker stated, „It was time to see what Bobbert could do.“

Despite his wobbly legs, Bobbert was determined to stand up. A volunteer stated, „We knew mentally that he was beginning to become his own Bobbert again.“ Cash, nevertheless, was aware that he required protection.

The friend of the ill llama took his duty as guardian very seriously. The empathetic alpaca would get in the way of volunteers approaching Bobbert whenever they did so.

Cash even acted as a cover for the recovering llama from the paparazzi.

Bobbert miraculously recovered thanks to the devotion of his caregivers and his protective friend.

Additionally, his large eyes had regained their brightness,” a volunteer added. He is flying in his true colors.
