We’ve talked a lot on Just Something about the efforts made by animal lovers to assist their beloved pets when they are in need.

As animal lovers, Sally Burky and her husband, a newlywed from Ozark, Missouri, did their best to assist needy dogs even on their wedding day.

Sally, like every other American bride-to-be looking for wedding ideas, noticed that more and more bridesmaids were carrying puppies instead of bouquets.

She thought how beautiful it would be to have senior dogs as well as puppies.

Consequently, she contacted Haven of the Ozarks, a local animal rescue to which she frequently contributes, and inquired whether they would be willing to share some of their senior dogs for the wedding in order to boost their adoption prospects.

They agreed, and on Burky’s special day, the senior dogs and the bridesmaids walked down the aisle together.

The dogs who attended the wedding were unable to find a permanent home and have since been adopted. During the wedding, the couple also collected donations for the shelter.

They were ready to give everything they had to a loving family, and Burky’s wedding was the perfect opportunity for them to shine in the spotlight and be adopted.

Some of the dogs had already found new homes when they walked down the aisle with the bridesmaids. Additionally, Burky and her husband collected contributions for the shelter.

The practice of having bridesmaids carry shelter dogs rather than bouquets is unquestionably one that needs to develop over time in order to assist an increasing number of dogs in finding loving homes.
