Amazing ‘The Lennon Sisters’ sing in wonderful harmony on ‘Ed Sullivan’


In 1970, “The Lennon Sisters” made a performance on “The Ed Sullivan Show.”It’s fun to listen to them again and again because of their mesmerizing singing and laid-back style.

The sisters performed flawlessly in tight harmonies. The four sisters in pink skirts and sweater vests appear as the camera fades in on them.They are sitting on two steps, which are clearly visible from each one.

The sisters are seated in front of a red barn door with the same short, poofy hairstyle.The well-known song “Where or When” is performed by “The Lennon Sisters.

From the Rodgers and Hrt Babes in Arms musical 1937 comes the show tune “Where or When.

“Ray Heatherton and Mitzi Green performed the song for the 1st time.The film version of “Babes in Arms” featured the music as well.

The four sisters Dianne, Peggy, Kathy, and Janet make up the singing team.The girls were commons on “The Lawrence Welk Show” from 1955 to 1968.

Even their own TV show, Jimmy Durante Presents the Lennon Sisters, existed. “Sad Movies (Make Me Cry),” a 1961 single, was their biggest hit.

The song raised up to the number 56 on the Billboard charts in the United States and it got at the top of the songs in Japan.It was their only career number one single.

After that, the sisters had a decade-long, highly successful residency in Las Vegas.They were elected to the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001.They rank among the sister teams with the greatest record of success.
